After loads of reading, two seminars & a lot of self reflection ~ I am attempting to increase my raw food intake. The best way to do this, I think, is to get INSPIRED! It’s all about getting creative in the kitchen so we never feel confused, lost or unable to make the changes we want in our lives. So, I thought Friday afternoon would be a perfect time to share some ideas floating around the internet & get that brain ticking over ways to incorporate a little more luscious, raw, beneficial foods into our diets…. ENJOY!!

{You can stop at a part in the recipe to keep raw, it does go on to bake, if you are interested in that. Personally I’d use Himalayan salt & add herbs to the initial mix in the food processor. Yum!}

I hope you have a fantastic weekend! I’m off to the local farmers market tomorrow morning to stock up on my fruits & veggies ~ I’m really inspired now & looking forward to the adventure! Will bring Leo along, he enjoyed babbling away to the various stall holders last week & he’s loving the organic bananas we picked up there!
Big love, Nikki xx
PS: I’ve also updated my Links page if you’re interested in some more blogs / raw food chefs / inspiration! Please let me know if you have any awesome links for me to check out too!

What a nice collection of raw recipes. Thanks for including my tacos!
Of course Janet!! What a magnificent taco recipe with all bases covered!! Love it!!

Oh I love these. We are lucky enough to have a veggie box delivered every Friday, so I shall be giving these a go!
One thing I wanted to ask, if it is not too personal, is how is your other half on board with your food changes? It’s just I live with a big carnivore Queenlander (albeit here in Blighty) and he takes a little more convincing. I guess what I want to know is how are you following this journey with your family onboard?

Hi Rach!!
Yay ~ let me know how you go!!
My husband doesn’t mind too much, because he’s set in his ways & pretty much only has dinner the same meal as Leo & I! He drinks Coke & iced coffee milks, has monte Carlo biscuits for morning tea & ham/cheese/pickles sandwiches for lunch. So he kinda does his own thing, but I don’t hear any complaints about our yummy dinners! He likes the idea of everything, especially for Leo, but he can’t seem to get on board too much with his own habits ~ oh well, to each their own! Perhaps there will be more of a change with time
Oh & Leo pretty much eats anything which is awesome so we share a lot of meals
He wants anything mama has! That probably encouraged me to think about what I put in my mouth!!

At first I thought it would be too hard and have to get a whole heap of ingredients I dont have! But it looks quite easy!

No worries Kate ~ I look for recipes that don’t sound too complicated & also use a lot of similar ingredients so we’re not going crazy with our shopping bills. I love multitasking!! You can substitute many parts too ~ I see recipes as a good guiding start & then I swap around to suit my tastes & what’s in the fridge!!

I had to take a plate of nibbles to a party last night so I decided to take the tacos with a few changes. I didn’t make the ‘meat’ component and baked flat bread with garam masala sprinkled on top for flavour. The dish was a mega hit! and I was pretty chuffed with myself
Yay Kylie!!! That’s awesome!! I’ve got a big smile on my face right now & you’re making me hungry ~ that sounds delicious!!! Thanks so much for sharing your success!!!
